It is the glue that holds emptiness as its womb. Light is the building block of this universe, as it is light itself that creates life. Light is life. Our spiralling DNA is like little sentinels that continuously pulsate it. This light of awareness is what has brought forth this consciousness conscious of its own self-creation. Light is for everyone; it shines on every thing. It shines light on what is, in continuance. We have always known the light,&nbsp;but believe in darkness. Forgetting that light passes effortlessly through…&nbsp;that it&nbsp;is the key to all freedom. To have seen the light connotes this.&nbsp;Its presence, its&nbsp;velocity, is&nbsp;our base equation in attempts to understand infinitude.&nbsp;Things that seem only theory we receive through our connection to it. Working primarily in oil, Davis investigates light as a shifting perceptual field. Her work resists fixity, blurs boundaries, and behaves as unstable images in which meaning emerges through encounter. With a background in performance, her practice is rooted in corporeal awareness and deep listening, maintaining an ongoing engagement with the body as a site of expanded consciousness. Davis recently exhibited at Feria Material in Mexico City with twoseventwo (Toronto). She has exhibited across Canada at venues such as TAP Art Space, Galerie Deschênes, (Montreal), VIVO Media Arts Centre, INDEX Gallery, and Western front (Vancouver). She received a 2024 artch fellowship for emerging artists, where she developed a new body of work. In 2025, she was a resident artist at Casa Lü Parque in Mexico City and was selected to present at Foire Plural with Loto-Québec x artch. Her work is held in private collections across Canada, the United States, Mexico and the United Kingdom.
